Oread Haiku - Poem by Dónall Dempsey

moored to the mountain
forest a wild sea

house adrift
in a tempest
of forest

orange house
on the high seas
of emerald forest

wave after wave
of forest
breaking over the boathouse

I declaim H.D.
to the storm

storm whimpers
it’s inner OREAD
free at last

flies through my voice
does her spiriting gently

calms storm
with the magic of its metaphors

tames storm
the alchemy of its words

the splash of words
the hurl of metaphors
our minds in a whirl
