house
moored to the mountain
forest a wild sea

house adrift
in a tempest
of forest

orange house
on the high seas
of emerald forest

wave after wave
of forest
breaking over the boathouse

I declaim H.D.
to the storm
storm...ceases...listens

storm whimpers
it’s inner OREAD
free at last

OREAD
flies through my voice
does her spiriting gently

OREAD
calms storm
with the magic of its metaphors

OREAD
tames storm
the alchemy of its words

the splash of words
the hurl of metaphors
our minds in a whirl
