Our Behavior Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

Our Behavior

I shall love my motherland
And befriend
All those who are deprived and forgotten
But assured of living in heaven

Why our hearts have changed?
Why people have been pushed?
To leave the place for the want of peace
Is the message meant for other races?

Why do we extend our hand of friendship to nearby place?
For all those who are believed to be our real enemy?
They not only create disturbance and send mercenaries
But cause hatred and add human miseries

My land has been used to create bitter relation
The flags and play cards are raised for liberation
It is only for causing bloodshed
They are local militants and misled lot

No outside force can separate us from motherland
Only it has to be firmly held
Create bond for brotherhood
And leave peacefully with neighborhood

What shall be the price for freedom?
There lies no wisdom
If we fail to distinguish between pride and honor
If so, then we will smell no fragrance by our behavior
