Our Eyes Are Blind Poem by Sankhajit Bhattacharjee

Our Eyes Are Blind

Where rich people live,
there everything is clean.
Where poor people live,
there everything is dirty.

But cleanliness and dirt
reside together within us.

If heart pumps,
mind is clear;
if mind is clear,
vision is peaceful.

If vision is blurred,
mind will be dark,
heart stops beating-
the person may be alive!

One nation one brother theory
fails because of one-eyed vision!
One nation is divided into many-
Rich Poor, Hindu Muslim, Brahmin Dalit...

With disease of division in our heart
and dirtiness of discrimination in our mind,
we speak great with blind eyes.
