Our Master Poem by Francis Duggan

Our Master

The Seasons to our lives do come and do go
And eventually time becomes everyone's foe
It causes age wrinkles and turns hair to gray
And rusts steel and iron through natural decay
Though with my ideas on this many would disagree
I only does say how it does seem to me
That time is our master I venture to say
Though not everybody does see it this way
Years ago champions and known to run fast
But time it has slowed the great athletes of the past
So fleet of foot in their physical prime
Greatness is always eroded by time
Yes time is our master is how it seems to be
Though many with this may choose to disagree.
