Our Neighbor Foe Poem by Cameron Gallant

Our Neighbor Foe

The breeze may blow softly
But she never flows while still
If the air shall lay in stagnancy
Roust from the heart thy mill
Grind the wretched indolence
Who as an idol lies
Diseased our crop and tree of life
Prune and sterilize
Decapitate the neighbor beast
And mount him on a pole
And raise our flag against the past
Concurring we are whole
