Our Trip To Chautauqua Poem by Marilyn Lott

Our Trip To Chautauqua

Chautauqua was a special place
In which teachers could unite
Founded in 1874 then later
Families would gather at this site

It was a place where the folks
Were inspired and educated
Then music added to the enjoyment
A wonderful place was created

So this is where we wandered
On our special touring bus
To the historical colony
Here’s a picture of some of us

We loved meeting Sandra D.
And learned so much from her
The perfect and gracious guide
To help us on this tour

Want a dinner on a stick?
Oh, doesn’t it look delicious
Deep-fried to perfection
But this guy just looks suspicious

And then there was the dancing
We couldn’t have a better day
Then it was off on down the road
To find another place to play!
