Out Of Time Poem by Ronald Chapman

Out Of Time

I'd rather be a rabbit than a turtle If I could.
Sleeping all day and tired with time.

I look at the stars,
Stars were winking out, one at time.
Feel a shiver up my spine.
I really just hoped no one would see.

All of a sudden my dreams come true.
The calendar says, "not enough time for you."

Under the sun, with two keys, an angel lays today.
My heart lusts for a distant land, but my soul tells me to stay.

I've grown too old to act.

My dreams break my heart.

Each day.
