Outcome Poem by Michael Walkerjohn

Outcome

Inspired by Myrna Lizzeth Acevedo

Breath, creation, earth life found,
spirit turns to blood;
forgetful dream, a past seen,
painful birth agile in scud;
branch of life soul fights,
world, washed by death's flood;
crown scion sat on Zion's tomb,
night's extinct, soul's bud.

Peer, in soul of eye,
piercing gleams catch beings of light;
blanch minds, curse a wicked world,
freewill in all ignites;
staunch earth ichors, clean her ill,
in life create incite;
stand together, all as one,
human nature's spirit reunite.

Shadow's robe, worn in battles bleak,
streaked a torrent red;
wicked under cringe,
lignite eyed, all light they dread;
many fools crossed in blood,
unknown, pasts being outbred;
captured souls, Legion's troop,
true life, in them abjured.

Winged one, eats light,
predators, fete men to feast beasts;
living cycle, natural life,
torn hearts of each deceased;
fear, in all humankind,
as truth's knowledge soon released;
lorn minds, each will finds,
life's breath in total ceased.

Fear dark world, stand with light,
come and battle fierce;
streams, flow toward life,
abound in worded weapon's pierce;
free truth's spirit within,
overcome death, to light aspire;
treat thought as kin, will as outcome,
life to each inspire.
