Outdated But Courageous Moves Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Outdated But Courageous Moves

May those chips of ice,
Carried on your cold shoulders.
While pushing boulders of revenge up a hill.
Give you moments of pause to think.
Why pushing boulders up a hill.
With chips on your shoulders to bear.
Internalizing aged and old revenge,
Is a necessity.
When children observing this,
Are taking pictures to send...
To friends as they laugh.
At discovering a relic from the past.
Unable to let go of it.
Yet trying to relive those times...
When the young have found computers,
Far easier to use to prove...
That a texting anyone to bully.
Or upset anonymously.
Is less stressful than public displays,
Of showing anger with dripping sweat.
And done at the risk of killing
oneself.
Without exposing the stupidity of it,
Over the internet to get huge hits.
Or adorning fans taking 'selfies'.
Imitating outdated but courageous moves.
With an array of scenic backgrounds.
To make such attempts,
Appalling and more interesting to the eye.
