Overtook Us Poem by Vera Sidhwa

Overtook Us

The Skies Opened Up

The skies opened up,
And the ubiquitous black overtook us.
Unusual happening the astronomers spoke.
What terrible happening could this be.

The blackness surrounded us up and down.
The calling, the message was unstoppable.
What we had done to our world was unthinkable.
We had turned everything around.

The people turned into robots.
The cells phone into space computers.
We all looked up then down,
But couldn't come up with an explanation.

The skies opened up,
And the ubiquitous black overtook us.
We all knew in our universal consciences,
That we had done something terribly wrong.
