Paradise Lost Poem by Mario, Lucien, Rene Odekerken

Paradise Lost

The trees stand hollow,
their roots grasping at dust.

Once, rivers sang to the earth,
now silence lingers in their beds.

The sky, a faded echo of gold,
holds no memory of what was.

Footsteps vanish before they are made,
and the wind carries only forgetting.
