Paranoid Poem by mikayla carpenter

Paranoid

Rating: 5.0

I think I'm paranoid.

Heart rate speeding,
less sounds of beating.

Rain drops hitting roof tops,
sounding bomb shells.

Every little sound,
every little movement,
keeps you wondering.

Every second,
Every minute,
shoots you higher than you've ever been before.

Will you be caught by human eyes?
Or will paranoia get the best of you?

One more line couldn't hurt.

Right?

Sweat running down your face,
you look around but see no one.

You snort your last jagged line,
minutes maybe hours pass.

No sign of anyone,
Suddenly it all happens.

People.

Piling into one room.

Yours.

A private sanctuary.

A place for you and your life sucking monster to be alone.

One line after another.

One human after another.

What does it matter?

They're both in the same room.

People on floors,
coke lines on mirrors.

You search frantically.
Someone notices.

Busted.

Just like that.

You're awake.

Sweat everywhere.

Blood pulsing through your body.

You look,
see nothing,
but the words.

Written in powdery letters:
Paranoid?
Love- The Monster
