Passing By The Courts Poem by Hebert Logerie

Passing By The Courts

Passing by the basketball courts
That's where you hear all sorts
Of nasty words that I don't want to repeat
Boy, they sound really stupid and uneducated
You hear the bees a lot
You hear the forks a lot
You hear the nays a lot
You hear the mother frost a lot
You hear the God at dawn a lot
You hear the shots a lot
Use your imagination, you're educated
You get the picture? I don't want to emulate
Brainless goats that disturb classmates
I mean future jail mates
The ones who are heading soon to prisons
For all sorts of nonsense and reasons
They smoke all kinds of smelly stuff
And don't feel that they drink enough
Cheap liquors that they hide under the benches
(They're accustomed of belonging under the desks)
And they love writing graffiti on the seats
Lunch classes are their favorites
Gym classes are their best
Many of them failed to graduate from the basketball courts
Before heading to the judicial courts
Where racist judges locked up hard-core delinquents
What a waste of money and time? Ignorance
Is a serious disease. Please supervise the children
When they are in the public parks. ‘Cause too many rodents
Are roaming here and there near the water fountain.
