Passionless Pain Poem by Melissa Broomhead

Passionless Pain

do you see my eyes they burn with a passionless furry
the flames of our unrequited love ignite
but the feelings i hold for you go on unreturned
but i fight it off to love never again oh how i fight

the acid tears i shed turn cold
as if im dead inside
i run from the truth
but theres nowhere to hide

where else do i go if not here
to escape your eyes that burn with a loveless flame
but i keep staring year after year
as the pain of your rejection increases

there is nowhere left in your heart for me
but my heart is so cold and empty

and i urn for your love to fill the void
in which i can not fill myself
