Patchwork © Poem by Roann Mendriq

Patchwork ©

Green velvet fields of lush grassland
against a muted dark brown suede;
Each road a silver ribbon strand
reaching to a coarse hill frayed...

Below a lilac silken sea
surf edged with the finest lace
Plaid tugboats sailing merrily
Cotton dolphins dive with grace.

A sky of pale blue organdie
shines above this placid day;
Beaming down to cover me
in the neatest appliqué...

Our woven world carefully built
to form a cosy patchwork quilt...!
