Paul in friendship is my bright lamp within darkness
Inspiring my Muse to rejoice seeing beauty everywhere
Seeking answers to life's mysteries and finding God
Reaching for the stars, my best friend, stalwart and true
Supporting, encouraging without question or rebuke
Strength making steps bolder and never faltering
Keeping me towards the next mountain to be climbed.
With faith and love the impossible can be achieved
No dream unfulfilled nor mountain too high to ascend.
Paul setting the pace towards the Promised Land
Leading me safely through buffeting purple storms
Across sweltering deserts to cool refreshing waters.
In his friendship giving purpose to life and hopes
Forging with compassion the poet I have become.
