Peach&Coconut Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Peach&Coconut

Peach &Coconut

“Cold and closed” I replied
She smiled judgmental.

“You see peach,
Soft in look; an angel in the sky
As in dreams, a mirage; hidden rock comes with bite, ”

And she talked and smiled.
Russian girls, mostly nice for the eyes,

“Coconut looks ugly, cold & closed is outside.
With effort get inside to see what lies around; Coconut is like us.”

She got me stupefied.

“We are warm, we are soft.”

She was right.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
We are, normally, wrong in judgments. We judge the book by the cover. Russian gave me a lesson that I will never forget.
