Pen And Paper - Poem by Tatianna Rei Moonshadow

Sometimes the only thing that listens
Is the paper on your desk
The only one to confide in
As the sobs heave your chest
The writer tells the paper
All that resides in her heart
Each secret and each fantasy
That resides so deeply in the dark
When the pen is your closest friend
And the words your only love
You stop to ask the world
Why you have to fall so much
Why you are left alone
With these objects that never speak
You are left with only whispers
Of another poet's dreams
For the only answers in life
Are the answers we discover
And the only real accomplishment
Is loving one another
But that seems to unreasonable
In this world that shuns its own
So either you take the Pen And Paper
Or you live your life alone
