People - Poem by Anna Moriarty Lev

People
move forward
when all it is
is getting farther and farther away
from what is real
and true.
Building cities
driving cars
making things.
Caging up the world
with fences.
What's the point in all this advancement
when we've lost our sight?
We cannot see anymore.
We cannot see the earth.
We cannot even see each other.
Separate in our own metal boxes
cages
closing us off
alone.
We cannot see what is important.
We've lost our sight.
A blind people.
