Perilous River Wharf Flood Sailing On Surge High Tide Poem by Terence George Craddock

Perilous River Wharf Flood Sailing On Surge High Tide

rain falls light or heavy railtrack rails ground is flooded
rain falls upon fast flow in river tide high river swollen
rain falls on weathered timbers saturated time weathered
rain falls wharf decking is slippery slimy decking wooden
high tide on turn cement ship is still bound to wharf by lines
high tide on turn ship engines rapid running thrust propellers
high tide on turn time to release lines lines from wharf bollards
high tide on turn last bow line released ship in river turns sails

released lines from the wharf ship first swept towardfar near bank
released lines from the wharf ship too fast swept toward opposite bank
released lines from the wharf ship was danger twig spun swept at bank
released lines from the wharf ship was peril crazy spun at far flood bank
released lines from the wharf ship was rapid cast a bob rocket at far bank
released lines from the wharf ship flood sails on fast flood tide near bank
