Permanence Poem by RAJ NANDY

Permanence

PERMANENCE!

Tiny eternities appears to get gobbled up,
With the revolving hands of the second, the
minute and the hour!
Nothing really passes as those hands rotate,
How can a graduated scale time devour? !
All things resurges with time, -
As the earth moves in its diurnal rounds,
New species forever replacing the old, -
But nothing remains time-bound!
Nothing really passes, and all things continue
to abide,
This passing is perhaps only a mental notion,
And even this time is our illusion!
