Persian Skies Poem by Nick Kler

Persian Skies

We used to lay down together
Under the blanket
Of Persian skies

Jet planes kissing
the glistening stars
Their flames
Burnt out in our eyes
As they merged
into the moonlit night

Crossing over
to the other side
Hauling souls
of little children
Killed in this
war of time
