Ph: Faith: A Soul's Potential Poem by Brian Johnston

Ph: Faith: A Soul's Potential

Does your aura boast color or faint like grey night?
Does it twinkle, a star? Freshen air like a rose?
Draw our eyes to the skies (like a rainbow in flight) ,
A piñata of promises (everyone knows) ?

Cornucopia pouring fresh gifts on the world,
Or a basket that stores all the largesse of life,
Does it ripple and crack like a flag that's unfurled,
Does it sway in the wind or cut wood like a knife?

Does its presence heal wounds, put the sun's warmth to shame,
Does it nourish the weak, quench the thirst of the dry,
And have no fear of falling, risk loss with no blame,
Does the joy of your service bring tears to God's eye?

Poet's Notes:
I like the mythology of an aura a lot more than the science of it. I have personally seen aura's several times, and though they are mysterious, I'm not sure that they have any physical reality or meaning. But if they are only a physiological phenomenon, still, something poetic is there even if it is just a metaphor for our minds! I like to imagine that auras (if they are real)are always with us. If they do reveal our inner natures to others, perhaps we all pretend not to see them because it is embarrassing to think others know us so well (and we all want privacy) !
