Pheromones Poem by ER Bron Chiong, RSW

Pheromones

Pheromones
what's that ten-lettered word
of 3-syllablic sounds
that fascinates science for centuries
this simply means in a layman's expression--
a chemically strong odor or smell
released from an animal or insect
especially a mammal
affects one's social behavior
through sweat, saliva and urine

what makes that smell extra special
it stimulates one's hidden desire
an arousal for sex that signifies fertility
of this hormone levels are released
is sufficiently enough to make one of us
fall madly in love, as expert suggest
when our brain cells responded
thus, creating some sort of bonding--
sweet or foul, naughty or nice

what makes this distinctive smell
may varies from person to person
or the strong scents from male and female
of donut, lavender, cinnamon, orange and popcorn
the androstenone compound induces reactions
that emits from eating celery, parsnips or truffles
reminds us of memories, emotions and even comfort
an enchanting freshness on one's mood
leads one's uniqueness to fatal attraction

what an impressive life this would be for us all!
