Possessions Poem by ER Bron Chiong, RSW

Don't worry about the things you have
the moment you leave this world
all these things will be taken care of
to be sold, donated or even burned
your collections of books, pictures,
CDs, DVDs, clothes and other things
you hold important in this life
will be disposed by your kinmen

Life will continue without you
but things you have done in your lifetime
will speak, judge, doubt or even criticize
good friends and family members will miss you
for a few hours, days, weeks, months or years
and they will move on and laugh at life once more
you will join with the memories of your folks forever
as your life story begins a new reality that counts

In this new form of life
you only need your soul and spirit
which is said to be eternal
your body will come back to you
when the LORD comes triumphantly
to rule the New Heaven and the New Earth
you left everything you have in the vast world
now the only thing you have is your salvation
