Not one to stop
to wait endlessly
he preferred to skim
sometimes to scan
once in a while
he stayed longer
and engaged himself
to trade a heart or two
near the curve
by the turn
to the highway cross
a little further the inn
he left a piece
gave a share
of his immense love
for keepsake
and moved on
newer pastures
brighter dreams
a lighter heart
but there it stayed, the love
grew
strong
long
deep
one day
tentacles
drew him in
tight breathless
he gasped
heard a sunshine smile
turned to a few drops fall
and stopped!
