Piecing Together A Fragmented Heart Poem by Demar Henry

Piecing Together A Fragmented Heart

I was caught off guard
And I fell in love

It is like a trap
If you don’t watch your step it will go snap
And your heart is torn to pieces
And fed to the dogs
Then passed out in their faeces

Infidelity has no reward
Stop playing games
Life is real
Not a dream as what they say

It is really hard when you are hurt
Especially when a lot if time is invested
Then because of adulterous inclination your relationship is infested
Jealousy is manifested
And love is arrested
Taken away and locked up

The hand on the clock kiss hundreds of times over before the sentence is over
And love is once again set free
Now wearing a suit of armor as a pre-cautionary step.
Treading lightly to prevent future regrets.
