Pigwiggin's Petting Zoo Poem by Richard D Remler

Pigwiggin's Petting Zoo

~~~~~~~~~~
Welcome all!Welcome one!
Our Monday Day has just begun!
It's been a Rather busy year,
And we're very pleased to have you here.
Feel free to seek out and explore,
Every mystery you've been searching for.
Here the heart and mind run hand in hand
So, welcome to our wonderland.
Here you can stare down adventure eye to eye.
Don't let your chance meander by!
Have faith in possibility,
And relish every opportunity.
We're a kaleidoscope from end to end,
Excitement lurks 'round every bend.
We've traveled far, we've traveled wide.
Curious? Just step inside...
We have a shoebird, who, the experts say,
Will resent you in most every way.
It will mock your walk, your talk, your gaze.
And it's been like this for thirty days.
Unless you've brought him Turnip Tea,
And half an Avocado Pea.
From the sandy Dunes of Rhakmon-Tai
Where the Phoenix-Feathered Obble fly,
We've a codipod of Twicketweez,
Nesting in our Wigwig trees...
And all they do is sneeze and sneeze
And sneeze and sneeze, and sneeze.
We've a Zeeped-Creep-ed Kamel Jay.
From the Tufted Hills of Faraway.
It's checkered stripes are green and gray,
And it loves to play Jungle Croquet.
It is friendly as A Fernal Bear,
Dancing in its underwear-
So smile kindly While you're there.
It will kick up every heel
And pose for every picture still,
And is that not as nice as tea?
It certainly seems nice to me.
Now, please let us carefully review
The bylaws of our petting zoo.
Read each and every single word
Of which we've pleasantly conferred.
Please, do not feed The Alligator.
And do not comb their hair.
Their vanity is already far too much
To bear.
The Mountain Lion enclosure there
Is in dire need Of some repair.
So please, indeed, Do Not Climb In
Until we know Your next of kin.
If you feel you've taken a wrong turn,
We've Orangutans from bow to stern,
And they've been waiting For you patiently
Just underneath their Puzzle Tree.
And should you feel your visit odd,
Please give our Dust Bunnies a nod.
They're sure to entertain and please,
And they may even make you sneeze.
And though our Piranha Pond may seem quite grim,
Please feel doubly free To take a swim.
Relax a spell, enjoy your stay.
They're certain to relish in the play.
Our Scorpions from Zimbabwe,
Oh, they love to come on out and play.
So feel free to hold and pet each one,
For they're sure to join right In the fun.
But please DO NOT Pet the Porcupines,
Until they've had Their tea.
They've been rather grumpy lately,
So it might pay to let them be.
And our Snapping Turtles From East Brunei
Are simply, merely saying hi.
So hug them warmly, kiss and tell
Them just how well they've kept their shell.
And do not finger-feed Our Tarantulas,
For they've been up all night.
And they're weary as a Wildebeest,
And so dread this morning light.
As always, it is Safety First!
Enjoy your wonder unrehearsed!
And jump headfirst into the fray
Of the adventure awaiting you today!
So, welcome one, and welcome all,
Be you short, or still, or round, or tall.
You never know what waits for you
In the NEW Pigwiggen's Petting Zoo!
