Perseverance Poem by Richard D Remler

Perseverance

Rating: 5.0

...........

That stumble was a big one,
I think I broke a nail.

And those scrapes and bruises,
Oh, they're gonna nag on me
A spell.

It's never any fun when everyone
Knows you so well.

They hold their breath anticipating
The very moment that you fail.

But they're in for disappointment.
I do not share their doubt.

Never giving up, now that's what
Life is all about.

I'm picking myself up
And dusting all their doubt away.

There is a sea of possibility
Awaiting me today.

They ought to know by now,
That when I fall, I always bounce.

I'm going to accomplish things
I can't even pronounce.

I've got a bit of faith in me,
A little, and a lot.

And I've cut that red ribbon of doubt,
Because they told me I could not.

I've no time for mediocrity.
I am more than what they see in me!

Tomorrow sings, and can't you see?
She's filled with possibility.

So, don't you waste your worry.
Because I'm doing right and fine.

There's no telling what I'll accomplish
In this crazy life of mine.

A really optimistic and unafraid poetic explosion! The right kind. Admirably enthusiastic! Loved it
