Pill Poem by Natasha Andeyi

Pill

Rating: 5.0

Simplicity is an understatement for the world I dwelt in before you came,
Though the pain existed as the shadow to your presence,
The memories you gave were worth every damn chase.
You magically showed out of the left field and I knew you were the right one for me,
The silence of my loud mind and the beat my heart missed because my breath went your way were enough signs that day.
Barely grasping the weight of that moment because naivety stood in the way,
And you, as I would later realize, enjoyed every minute I got lost dazing in your eyes.
Not quite met a soul like yours, one that easily invades my world with the mention of a few words,
Takes advantage of the power vested in them to cultivate feelings they know they'll never reciprocate, And then walk out on a bleeding soul with no bother if six feet will be the depth of their next hole.
But what can I say, yes... I would do it all over again.
We were young, we still are. And you're my favorite pill so far, because within and not for a bit is your kind of intoxication.
