Pipe Dream Poem by April Humason

Pipe Dream

We were living a dream, or so it seemed,
Two hearts walking, faith softly beamed,
Hope felt real, every promise gleamed,
Until I learned it wasn't what I dreamed.

You gave your heart where mine once stayed,
A sweet illusion slowly frayed,
What I thought was love began to fade,
And I learned the price of plans I made.

Now I walk my road alone with prayer,
Learning to release every snare,
Letting God heal what felt unfair,
Trusting Him with what comes next.

The memories linger but don't bind,
I'm learning peace, a stronger mind,
God rebuilding what was behind,
A better love for me to find.

So I carry forward, not in shame,
Not lost inside the old refrain,
But wiser now, and not the same,
Trusting His dream instead of pain.
