Plagues Our Mind - Poem by David Harris

There are times when memories
plague our mind of years ago
and we see them as if
they only happened yesterday.
We forget the years
that have come and gone
between now and then
and the sorrows that ensued
on our journey along.

Then time stops for a moment
and more memories flood back
of days that will never come again.
Memories bringing the joys of youth
that we can visit again and again
and the dreams we had way back then.
Reliving the ones that did come true
and the ones that came to nothing
whose memories still surround us.
