Plainsong Poem by Michael Pruchnicki

Plainsong

Rating: 1.0

There are nights so dark here
that I fear for my soul
adrift on a sea of trouble
like a ship unmanned
and abandoned to its fate

ship and crew doomed
and forlorn on a final voyage
fog and ice shroud the masts
and corpses litter the deck

darkest night on a dark sea
we few crouched in the bow
gaze blindly at cold death
and eternal damnation
