Platform Plunge Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

We watched each rung he took to climb,
And he chose the smaller one...
From which to take his dive!
And he won with a look of surprise!

He took that winning with a sight,
To acheive a dive from the next platform height!
He had more confidence...
Showing in his eyes that were wide and bright!

To the top he wanted to go to jump!
He wanted to be sure he was seen by everyone!
Even his family wasn't sure of this one.
And he spiraled from the top to shock and stun...
Those watching him and the platform becoming undone!
