PM Justin Trudeau, may I compare thy time in office to different things - A sonnet
-Gayathri B. Seetharam
Justin Trudeau, your time in office speaks of harvest time during the four seasons
If in autumn, the bounty you have given us has been that of an apple tree, mostly delicious fruit
But a few rotten and others not as tasty as the rest of the harvest
In winter, it has been the maple syrup collected from a maple tree
Very sweet but it needs the accompaniment of other ingredients
For it to be delicious fare although I swear to you that the maple shaped lollipop
Is really tasty and regales the taste buds with its unique flavour
Come spring, it has the taste of the firm and crunchy carrots
But do recall that these have to be planted in the fall season
And come summer, I choose lupines as the flowers of desire
That colour our lives in Canada and these bring delight to all our homes
As do all other flowers which represent the personality of Canadians like me and you
It would do well if thee were to stay true to your covenant made to me
And honour your pledge and publish and pay me.
