I turned to You and You were there
God of my needs
God of my cares
The troubles of life made me seek You

I turned to You to bless my life
When You answered my prayers and
I became a wife
The happiness of love made me seek You

I turned to You when all was good
Because I had been taught
That's what I should
Obligation was what made me seek You

I turned to You to give You my thanks
To praise You
And to join the ranks
Of mothers who in awe, also seek You

I turn to You by grace of my years
I rejoice in Your love
And with thanks I shed tears
That at times I forgot to seek You


For You are my God, my Father who knows
That the blessings of my life
Have always been owed
To the grace that You gave me to seek You.
