Poem For The Homeless Poem by Matthew Holloway

Poem For The Homeless

Rating: 5.0

The winds howls beyond the window
whilst the rain rattles against it
it would be just another winters night
but not this night, my thoughts drift
and my heart sinks, for strangers
those poor souls left upon the street
the homeless unfortunates
left to brave this foul tempest night
tonight my compassion speaks to me
my heart weeps in the comfort
of my own bed, I hold no faith
in religion nor government
yet I pray, wish to those poor souls
to be safe, to find warmth, shelter
to find something better
