Poem On Anger Poem by Ayn Timmerman

Poem On Anger

I shake a fist in defiance
of anything stood for

anything false,
anything inherently evil,
anything “wrong” in the world—

Refuse the qualities of life
that bring it all down for the rest of us.

Shaken,
shake this up,

anything worth dying for
is worth standing up against.

I love the last stanza. Well said! Defiance can be a good thing at times. Sometimes it is good to die rather than to surrender.

Too true. It's easy for people to say they'll do something, then never turn their hand to it, as summed up well by the last two lines. Short and articulate, I like it.
