Poem Set To A Tune Poem by Joyce Hemsley

Poem Set To A Tune

Sombre day, dark and stormy
But what care I, for in my room
I have a cosy fire to warm me
with your beautiful poem set to a tune.

Cloudy day, but a sweet love story
Lies deep in my mind whate'er I do
Sensations of magical joy come o'er me
As I close my eyes and think of you.

I see no form, I see no face
But I hear the romance in your voice
And oh! those sweet poetical words
Make my heart and soul rejoice.

Grey skies soon turn blue to cheer me
And the little skylarks start to sing
Just because your poem means more to me
Than the rapture and mystery of spring.

Wonderful day, your words enthral me.
I gaze from my room, it could be June
And the haunting love of early morning
Is in your poem...set to a tune.
