Poems I Thought Were Mine Poem by Phoenix1 Smith

Poems I Thought Were Mine

Few years ago you wrote a poem
gladly you send, to me you showed
a very special poem for me
it was the moment you captured
when we saw each other in the hall
us staring at each other, allured

few seconds of moments when
we looked in each other's eyes
eagerly got a photo of a young lass
who look just like me to be part of it
we would always talk about those
lovely words used, to me you admit

the poem was so special to us
asked me to make video to serve
I spent sleepless nights to create
eyes aching to find photos it deserve
these beautiful moments of our time
true special memories to preserve..

yesterday a girl uttered her happiest news
can not contain her feelings that now brew
announced to all, anyone that would listen
you told her, you wrote a beautiful poem
while writing all along it's her on your mind
you gave her 'our' poem this truly I knew

still the girl continued, not just that you gave
to her all verses that you told me was mine,
written for your love to her to keep and save
to me she said, she's the girl in your rhymes
that you had in those 'few seconds' in time
truly the girl you're asking to 'walk with you'
your 'secret girl' she told me, she's the one

poor me, I am so ashamed, so ashamed!
I am a foolish woman, I just want to hide
for I do not have the nerve to let others see
what a pathetic woman I am now in reality
brought me this shameful heart that thought
those rhymes and verses were for stupid me

beautiful love poems that made me very happy
without even a pity on me. cruelly you took away
poems I treasured, thought was for us, eternally..
sad truth now was told, those were not for me
truly all was written for your beloved, your lady..
