the poet may die while the poem endures
long after memory fades friends family pass
all who remember loved your voice smiles
quick wit twinkle in your soft loving eyes
all countless precious turbulent memories
ephemeral will one day evaporate erase
therefore eventually a time must come
when a poet must wake take responsibility
make a little time take more effort
to write a few definitive words heartfelt;
upon issues events emotions crisis
which permeates the age within which
the poet lives breathes thinks feels
a poet insight an age wax signature seals
