Poet's Paradise Poem by Jaya Panickar

Poet's Paradise

Rating: 5.0

Poets engulfed by thread of passions delicate waft
Struggle, written verses can't seem to fully depict
Their thoughts, caught in a whirlwind of emotions raging
Its seldom easy to tame a poet's heart, that's on fire.

Many unspoken words, the minds read in silence
Woven with strands of desire in tiny golden whorls
It's a heart caught in delicate tempest of bubbly love
Spinning with the currents of choppy rapids rough.

Like a storm that beats reason of all sorts, it appears
A mind churned by sweet-sour words seldom sane,
Like a river overflowing its banks, washing all standing
Drenching the being with a new surge of tender life

It's an adventure of a unique sort, a blessed event
Few are the occasions when a soul can kindle that
Fire in another heart, a delight inexplicable in words,
It's a divine blessing, only a chosen few get to rejoice.

Only a heart that has felt that warmth once, can know it
It's akin the heat of a hearth side fire cozy as in winter, but
Cinders at times roasting every shred of the being often too
Every poet knows it and lives there, it's his workplace dear

Beautiful depiction of the poet's idiosyncrasy, well articulated and insightfully penned in heightened poetic diction with conviction. A lovely piece of poetry bristling with knowledge. Thanks for sharing Pani. Please read my poem MANDELA - THE IMMORTAL ICON.

I sincerely thank you for those word of appreciation about my poetry. It is a great inspiration when it comes from fellow poets. I must say your poem about the legendary Mandela is a literary tribute in the truest sense. Its a piece well written, the language and poetic sense reflects the poets pride and gratitude towards the great leader enthusing the reader with those values too. Keep Writing.

It's seldom easy to tame a poet's heart that's on fire. Very true statement, when feelings and emotions are raging inside, nothing can tame the poet except writing everything out in verse or prose. Great poem! A 10! Thank you for sharing it. RoseAnn
