Poetic Sky Poem by Denis Martindale

Poetic Sky

It's no wonder that I wonder at things that can be found,
Far beyond my fears of thunder and storms that may astound.
The breezes carry flower seeds to fall upon the ground,
Some tinier than necklace beads that swirl and twirl around.

Between the realms of Earth and space, the sky has beauties, too,
Beyond the white clouds that we face when rainbows come in view,
And birds so large, and birds so small, just doing what birds do,
Some high as mountains, oh so tall, just soaring all day through.

I see the sunshine and take heart, though Winter steals some joy,
Yet then see Christmas play its part for every girl and boy.
To increase faith for what's in store that no-one can destroy,
Each New Year's Day draws near once more, with more hope to employ.

I sometimes see clouds move so fast, as if some place to get,
As if no time to look downcast, or cry tears of regret.
God knows the reasons clouds exist beyond us getting wet,
Explained by each evangelist in Churches when we've met.
