Poetmother, Artist, Broken-Down Car - Poem by Douglas Scotney
My car has broken down.
I have a comfortable feeling
That the future will be better,
Having had a car,
Than it would have been,
Had I never had one at all.
Like that old adage about love:
That, without it,
Expect no comfort from the past.
