Poetry is a question of quality
Not a numbers game or quantity
Poetry is about deep meaning
Of the words used by the Poets
Who are in reality true Prophets
Don't get me wrong, don't wring
My neck and misinterpret my analogy
It's not about the history of the story
It's about the reality of the story. Poetry
Sends messages in a sophisticated way
Poetry is everything that you see every day
Everything that you think or dream about
Poetry is the inspiration received from a Superior Being
Poetry is about the sun, the moon, the rain, the drought
Mother Nature and the boxer who died senselessly in the ring
Poetry is about love, freedom, respect and justice
Poetry is about intelligence, music, lyrics and peace
Poetry is everywhere. Poetry is about the landscape
Poetry is about the poor prisoner who just escaped
Poetry is about the corrupt politicians who rarely
Get caught with their dirty hands in the cookie jar
Poetry is about the nonsense of life, the stupid war
The ignorance and the incompetence of today's leaders
Poetry speaks of beauty and ugliness. Poetry is for dreamers.
