Poetry Is No Joke Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

Poetry Is No Joke

Rating: 5.0

New name is to be called as “domain”
Exclusive zone willingly created to refrain
From borrowing any theme or thought
But presenting it to world as has been sought

Rules or no rule, poetry is not joke
You can always find thick smoke
It speaks clear without any mystery
Simple blessings from real creator and almighty

The thoughts flow as it should have been
The impact created as it was expected to be seen
Why not to follow instinct that gives enough of joy
Rather than wrapping in hard words to annoy

“I shall not read your poems from tomorrow”
Until you change your style and allow
Free verses to flow with all rules in format
I declined politely the hidden threat as request

The poets are not tool in somebody’s hand
I think that should be made clear to friends
You may suggest flaws in poem
But never as an advice concerning them

Many complain and put bluntly “we are sorry”
For not being English as your first language
I politely explain in words not to worry
As poets are born and not made in hurry

If words can be put with impact
If message can be conveyed with purity in act
I think purpose of being poet is well served
The honor for an individual is certainly deserved

Dear and Respected Poet, A most beautiful and bountiful response to my humble poem. Great sentiment and truth in your extraordinary verses, that do great honor to the truth and beauty of sincere feelings of which Poetry is the perfect recipient. With deepest gratitude, Sandra
