When she came into my life
Poetry was my best friend
I took her as my acquaintance, as wife
She gave me Joy and peace of mind
Each time I traced her path
Comfort and solace she gave my heart
No rancor, no deceit
She was fair and kind to me
No pride, no quarrel
She submitted all to me
But my heart went astray
Because this lady overwhelmed my soul
Never could I resist
Love overwhelmed me
I trusted her love, I followed
She became my best friend
But her heart was half in me
She was not fair and kind to me
O poetry my former best friend
Accept I'm coming back
Because you were my best friend.
