Poets - Harken To My Words Poem by Jonathan Goldman a.k.a JGthepoet

Poets - Harken To My Words

Rating: 1.0

When reading Poetry, I like to hear
How the words to me, do sound,
And when writing verses in my Mind,
I voice the words out loud.

Take heed of this, I say to you,
For it is good advice,
For long sentences aren’t poetry,
And do not sound very nice.

The flow of words must sound good to all,
Have Punctuation, Verse and Rhymes,
Have Scans or Rhythm in each line,
And make sense, to make the poem fine.

All lines in the poem don’t have to rhyme,
But the rhythm must be there to read,
To distinguish Poetry from Prose,
Is all that a good poem needs.

So, Poets harken to my words,
Read aloud, as you do write,
Then Readers will look for poems you wrote,
With eagerness ~~ on this site.
