Poor Governance ~ Dr. H S Swadhin Kumar Pal Poem by Dr. H S Swadhin Kumar Pal

Poor Governance ~ Dr. H S Swadhin Kumar Pal

Promises rise like banners, then fade into air,
Failures grow deeper, while leaders pretend to care;
Corruption and scams steal the people's trust,
Injustice silences voices that demand what is just,
And broken commitments turn hope into despair.

Autocracy grows where democracy should stand,
Dictatorship tightens its grip across the land;
Crimes increase while accountability declines,
Power protects power through political designs,
And justice becomes distant from the common man.

Society is divided by religion and caste,
Old prejudices return from shadows of the past;
Religious bifurcation weakens unity and peace,
Caste systems deny equality and keep divisions at ease,
While hatred and discrimination continue to last.

Unemployment leaves millions waiting in line,
Qualified young minds struggle for a future to find;
Jobs are promised, but opportunities remain few,
Poverty and inequality continue to grow anew,
While wasted talent becomes the nation's decline.

Good governance demands justice, truth, and care,
Not empty slogans, false promises, or despair;
A nation must unite beyond caste, creed, and throne,
Where rights and dignity belong to everyone,
And accountable leadership makes democracy fair.
