We postpone our existence
When we let grief overstay its welcome
and paralyze our life.
We postpone our lives
When we let fear dictate our actions
and keep us in constant apprehension.
We postpone our healing
When we refuse to admit we’re in pain
and yet live in constant agony.
We postpone our joy
When we deny our lust
and refuse to confess our sins
but live in guilt and shame.
We prolong our guilt
When we refuse to accept forgiveness
and surrender to God’s caring hands.
We wallow in self-pity
wondering when God
will come to the rescue
while He waits for us to surrender.
